I'm Isabella,
nice to meet you.

I am incredibly passionate and enthusiastic about user interface and user experience design and the design thinking process. I enjoy learning more and creating purposeful digital interfaces and marketing strategies that satisfy the user's needs and business goals.

Previously, traditional art and graphic design had been my creative outlets throughout my life. I am a recent undergrad graduate at the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Arts and Entertainment Technologies and an Entrepreneurship Minor at McCombs. I look forward to continuing to implement my skills in UI/UX Design along with my marketing skills!

After recently graduating again from UT Austin this past May in the Masters of Science in Marketing Program at McCombs School of Business, I am eager to implement the knowledge gathered there in my future role!

How I got into UI/UX and Digital Marketing

I have always had an interest in art and creative thinking ever since I have been a little kid. Growing up, I created traditional art. I dedicated myself to learning graphic design when I started high school.

After high school, I heard of UI/UX as a new career path very different from graphic design. After further research, I got into the Arts and Entertainment Technologies major at UT Austin. I enjoyed learning more about user experience each and every day.  â€‹

At the beginning of quarantine 2020, I created and designed a website for a company called bruxAway Inc. They want to resolve the issue of teeth grinding, also known as bruxism, with a device that significantly reduces the episodes and tracks your sleeping quality. I also designed the User Interface for their web and mobile app in 2 weeks. If you would like to look through these projects, you can check them out under the PROJECTS tab on the top!

Summer of 2020, I got a job as an intern as a Visual Designer at K12 Inc (now Stride), where I was then offered a contractor position to continue with the company 6 months later until December 2022. There, designed user-friendly course screens by creating a scrolling layout that reduced interaction costs through rounds of ideation, wireframing, and prototyping in K12’s internal authoring tool. I also conducted research on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) to understand how successfully SEL is taught in classrooms, allowing K12 to adapt those methods for future virtual learning environments.

I was also one of the founding Student Advisory Board members (SAB) of the Kendra Scott Women's Entrepreneurial (WEL) Institute beginning Summer 2020. I helped start and have been contributing to the KS WEL Institute community blog, em-bold-en, as a graphic designer and writer along with the marketing event team!

After realizing I wanted to explore and expand more of my knowledge of how marketing is connected in ways to UI/UX design, I applied and graduated with my MS in Marketing from UT Austin!

What I've been working on

Currently, I am also a Creative Director and Web Developer for FostaParty, a nonprofit event-planning service that provides free birthday parties to children in the foster care system!

Upon graduating with my Master of Science in Marketing from the University of Texas, my experience across many cross-functional projects involves UI/UX Design, digital marketing, social media, and the development of user-focused solutions. I believe it is important to see things from a creative and analytical perspective. I look forward to growing my skills throughout my professional career!

What I'm curious about

I'm curious about how interface design affects people's behavior and interactions with a prototype. â€‹I am also passionate about creating digital interfaces and experiences for people that will make an impact on their life.
